Manufacturer service-history reports and factory build sheets are being prepared. They are not currently available to purchase. A make or model guide does not confirm data coverage for that vehicle.
Make each service entry understandable
Ask the seller to show the dated record, mileage and description of each service. Where a letter or short label is used, ask what the corresponding report and invoice include. Do not assume that the label proves a separate maintenance item was completed.
Match the documents to the correct C-Class engine, year and body style. If a plate changed, connect the earlier invoices through reliable identifying details rather than ignoring the discrepancy.
Check configuration-dependent claims
If the car is advertised as a hybrid or with a specific transmission or drivetrain, establish the exact configuration. Ask an appropriate workshop what documentation should support its maintenance. Do not apply a universal schedule to every C-Class.
Keep an equipment check separate from the service-history check. A claimed comfort or assistance package should be demonstrated and, where needed, supported by reliable specification information.
Use the record in a buying decision
Treat unexplained gaps as questions to resolve rather than automatic evidence of a faulty car. Equally, a complete-looking summary does not replace an inspection. Use the free MOT timeline to compare dated mileages and ask what work followed significant recorded notes.
Three questions to take to the seller or workshop
- Can the broad service labels be backed by detailed reports?
- Do the documents cover this exact engine and model year?
- What additional maintenance claims need a separate invoice?
Your next step
Read the Mercedes-Benz record-source guide, or save your car in My Garage to organise evidence you already hold. A paid digital-record search cannot currently be ordered on FMSH; this guide is not confirmation of manufacturer coverage.
