Manufacturer service-history reports and factory build sheets are being prepared. They are not currently available to purchase. A make or model guide does not confirm data coverage for that vehicle.
Ask about the digital schedule
Volkswagen’s servicing guidance describes digital records and directs owners to a retailer for help with the history. It also explains that a replacement paper book does not recreate the old stamps. If your book is missing, recovering evidence and buying an empty replacement are different tasks.
An independent repairer may have recorded work through Volkswagen’s system, but its ability to show the history can differ from a retailer’s access. Ask what was actually entered and retain the workshop invoice.
Identify fixed or flexible requirements for the car
Volkswagen describes different servicing regimes. Establish which regime applies to the individual vehicle before judging the dates and mileage gaps. Do not use one interval from a different model as a rule for every Volkswagen.
Routine service entries and additional maintenance jobs may be separate. Ask the workshop what applies to the exact engine and transmission, then request the corresponding evidence.
Keep evidence separate from the advert
- Confirm the VIN and relevant vehicle configuration.
- Ask for the digital schedule and any older paper records.
- Retain itemised invoices rather than relying only on stamps.
- Use the MOT timeline to frame questions about mileage and repeated notes.

Where FMSH can help now
Review available MOT and recorded-mileage information with the free registration check. Save the vehicle and keep invoices in My Garage. Our planned manufacturer-record report is a separate £7.99 one-off product, not currently on sale. Coverage, response fields and no-data treatment will be confirmed before orders open.
Understand the planned report or follow the lost service-book guide.
