AUDI A3

Audi A3 service history: know what the records prove.

Checking Audi A3 service history means matching the paperwork to the exact A3 you are considering. Keep the engine, body style and model year in view rather than treating every A3 service schedule as the same.

YOUR NEXT STEP

Check the Audi A3 MOT timeline first.

Look at the free MOT and recorded-mileage history, then keep your service evidence together in My Garage.

Free MOT and recorded-mileage check. No account needed. Paid manufacturer reports are not yet on sale.

Manufacturer service-history reports and factory build sheets are being prepared. They are not currently available to purchase. A make or model guide does not confirm data coverage for that vehicle.

Ask for a record, not just the next-service screen

Request the completed maintenance record and the invoices behind important work. A display of the next service date tells you what the car is currently indicating; it does not by itself show the full previous ownership history.

When the seller supplies documents, check each registration or VIN reference. Older invoices and private-plate changes may need an explanation before the timeline makes sense.

Resolve drivetrain and maintenance questions precisely

If the car is described using terms such as S tronic or quattro, confirm the actual configuration before asking what maintenance applies. The correct answer depends on the individual car, not a universal rule for every A3. Ask a suitable workshop to identify any additional scheduled items.

Record which of those items are evidenced and which remain a question. Do not turn a missing invoice into a claim that a component is faulty, and do not accept a trim badge as proof of the drivetrain.

Compare history when choosing between cars

Two A3 adverts can use the same service-history wording while supplying very different evidence. Compare readable dates, mileages, descriptions and invoices, then use a mechanical inspection for condition. Store the documents you receive in My Garage for the next service or resale.

Three questions to take to the seller or workshop

  1. Can I see the completed digital record as well as the next-service display?
  2. Which maintenance requirements apply to this exact drivetrain?
  3. What paperwork supports work described in the advert?

Your next step

Read the Audi record-source guide, or save your car in My Garage to organise evidence you already hold. A paid digital-record search cannot currently be ordered on FMSH; this guide is not confirmation of manufacturer coverage.
