Manufacturer service-history reports and factory build sheets are being prepared. They are not currently available to purchase. A make or model guide does not confirm data coverage for that vehicle.
Read the A4 history chronologically
List the dates and mileages first, then add the description of each visit. This makes it easier to see where a workshop summary needs an invoice or where the seller needs to explain a gap. Distinguish a repair from a scheduled service rather than counting every visit as one.
Cross-check against recorded MOT mileage, allowing for the dates of the respective readings. Investigate inconsistencies; transcription errors and unit differences need to be considered before alleging mileage manipulation.
Ask about the exact transmission and specification
Confirm the engine, gearbox and driven-wheel configuration from reliable documents. Ask a workshop which additional maintenance items are relevant and what evidence would demonstrate completion. A broad “major service” description may not answer a specific question about a separate job.
For an Avant or a car advertised with towing or load-related accessories, check that the equipment is actually present and appropriate. Treat its condition and operation as an inspection question, separate from a digital service entry.
Make the handover easier to follow
Ask for a coherent file rather than a collection of unreadable screenshots. A useful handover records the source of each document and keeps personal information to what is necessary. My Garage can hold your own entries and invoices without representing them as manufacturer-verified records.
Three questions to take to the seller or workshop
- Do the documents match the saloon or Avant being advertised?
- Which entries are servicing and which are repairs or inspections?
- What items still need clarification from the servicing workshop?
Your next step
Read the Audi record-source guide, or save your car in My Garage to organise evidence you already hold. A paid digital-record search cannot currently be ordered on FMSH; this guide is not confirmation of manufacturer coverage.
