Manufacturer service-history reports and factory build sheets are being prepared. They are not currently available to purchase. A make or model guide does not confirm data coverage for that vehicle.
Check the owner route and the paperwork
Ford explains that owners can link a vehicle to a Ford Account or the Ford app to view available digital service history. Paper and digital records may coexist, so do not discard an older service book simply because a newer online record is available.
If you are considering a car you do not own, ask the seller to supply the records they are entitled to share. Do not attempt to claim ownership or use someone else’s account to gain access.
Ask an independent garage how the work was recorded
Ford’s guidance notes that independent repairers can record work through the relevant Ford system when registered to do so. An invoice remains useful whether or not a digital entry is present. Ask the garage about the actual entry rather than assuming its presence or absence.
Verify the engine and relevant maintenance schedule for the car. A job that is important for one engine or model year should not be assumed to apply identically to every Ford. Ask for evidence of the precise work claimed in an advert.
What to bring together
- Paper service book and digital entries where available.
- Itemised invoices for scheduled work and substantial repairs.
- MOT mileages to compare with the dates in the maintenance file.
- The correct engine and model-year requirements confirmed through Ford or a workshop.

Where FMSH can help now
Review available MOT and recorded-mileage information with the free registration check. Save the vehicle and keep invoices in My Garage. Our planned manufacturer-record report is a separate £7.99 one-off product, not currently on sale. Coverage, response fields and no-data treatment will be confirmed before orders open.
Understand the planned report or follow the lost service-book guide.
