Manufacturer service-history reports and factory build sheets are being prepared. They are not currently available to purchase. A make or model guide does not confirm data coverage for that vehicle.
Ask for the scope behind important entries
Request the available Jaguar history and supporting invoices. Separate scheduled services from inspections, diagnosis and repairs so a list of visits does not become a misleading service count.
For substantial work mentioned by the seller, ask who performed it, at what mileage and what was included. Keep the explanation tied to the invoice instead of relying on a broad phrase in the advert.
Identify what remains to be checked
Compare the service readings with the MOT chronology and ask about unresolved gaps. Check whether work after the most recent digital entry is documented elsewhere.
Original specification, maintenance evidence and current mechanical condition are different questions. Confirm important advertised features on the car and arrange an appropriate inspection where needed.
Three questions to take to the seller or workshop
- Which entries actually describe scheduled services?
- What invoices explain significant work?
- What evidence covers the period after the latest digital entry?
Your next step
Read the Jaguar record-source guide, or save your car in My Garage to organise evidence you already hold. A paid digital-record search cannot currently be ordered on FMSH; this guide is not confirmation of manufacturer coverage.
