Manufacturer service-history reports and factory build sheets are being prepared. They are not currently available to purchase. A make or model guide does not confirm data coverage for that vehicle.
Reconcile the vehicle description and service evidence
Use the actual vehicle details to establish which requirements apply. Ask for clarification if an invoice uses a shortened model description or an earlier registration. Keep a note explaining how the record was connected to the car.
Where the history spans different workshops, order the documents by date and identify duplicated summaries. Two copies of the same visit should not become two services.
Read the handover file as a set of sources
Combine the available Online Service History with invoices for servicing and significant repairs. Ask a suitable workshop to explain unclear work descriptions or the next maintenance milestone.
Check practical equipment and present condition separately, including any features important to your intended use. Historical maintenance evidence is useful context, but it does not demonstrate current operation.
Three questions to take to the seller or workshop
- Do the documents match the XF generation and body style?
- Are repeated summaries being counted once?
- Which work and next maintenance milestone can the workshop substantiate?
Your next step
Read the Jaguar record-source guide, or save your car in My Garage to organise evidence you already hold. A paid digital-record search cannot currently be ordered on FMSH; this guide is not confirmation of manufacturer coverage.
